I was born in Toronto, Ontario and raised in Fort William, now part of Thunder Bay, Ontario. In 1977, I moved to Calgary as a commerical pilot to sell light aircraft. In 1978, I began with P.J. Toole and Cote Real Estate, switched to Royal LePage in 1985 and then in July 1988 I moved to RE/MAX Real Estate (Central), where I plan to be for some time to come. I am presently single and 56 years young. I live in a two storey split, single family home that I bought in 1989 in the community of Edgemont in N.W. Calgary.
EDUCATION/MEMBERSHIPS
I have been a continuous member of the Calgary Real Estate Board since November 8th, 1978. I continue to update my skills through continuing education provided by the Calgary Real Estate Board. Some of the courses that I have taken over the years include: Understanding Agency, Purchase Contract, Environmental Awareness, Reducing Risk, Condominiums, etc. I listen to tapes and attend out of town seminars. In the past, I have lived in all four quadrants of Calgary. I know the advantages and disadvantages of the over 900 square km that presently make up the city of Calgary. In 1996, I became a Registered Relocation Specialist. In 2006, I joined the CREC, which specializes in Relocations in Canada. Some of the employeers that I have helped in past are: Nortel, All Sands Project Group, RE/MAX Relocations, Crowsnest Resources and others.
RE/MAX SETS SALES RECORDES YEAR AFTER YEAR
I want you to benefit from the advantages of the largest, most successful Real Estate Company in Calgary, Canada and the WORLD! Let me tell you about my office.... For ten consecutive years, our office was the number one RE/MAX office in the world for sales! This is very impressive when you consider that there are over 6,000 RE/MAX offices in 63 countries. RE/MAX Real Estate
(Central) has 3.5% of all the agents in Calgary, (approximately 235) and yet we sell between 11 to 12% of all the Real Estate in the city! All the RE/MAX offices combined sell around 41% of the Real Estate in Calgary, which makes RE/MAX the number one company in Calgary. At RE/MAX we get most of the listings first and thus as a RE/MAX buyer, you get the first opportunity to view these homes before they appear on the M.L.S. system. Later, when you sell your home, you get this same sales force working for you. This is why I work for RE/MAX!
SUPPORT STAFF and SYSTEMS
I have the systems and the support staff to make sure that your listing or sale goes forward smoothly. My mortgage broker has twice been the President of the Mortgage Broker Associaton of Alberta; his and my services are free to you when you buy a property. Years ago, my morgage broker saved one of my buyers 1.75% or $12,000 on her mortgage over five years! The Home Inspection Company that I regularly use has the specialized, digital equipment that has allowed him to find cracked furnace heat exchangers and poor chimney installation where the seller had cut out roof beams, etc.. I prefer to have you attend the entire inspection so you can see any problems that may exist. If there are problems, it is best to know about them BEFORE you remove the home inspection condition from the offer. When you are looking for a home to purchase, I will put your search parameters into the computer, which constantly searches the MLS system and e-mails you the data with the address and price with-in a hour. By using these tools, I am able to extract information that will best suit your needs and get the information to you as quickly as possible so we can be the first to view these new listings.
FEEDBACK ABOUT MY SERVICES
The feedback that I get tells me that people like my work, the extra things I do for them and the follow up after the sale. Over the years, I have built up an excellent reputation with-in the Real Estate industry and with my clients. This helps me to sell your listing and present your offer(s) on homes easier with other Realtors who know me. While there are presently 5,400 Real Estate Agents in Calgary, there are less than 500 of us that have been in business through the ups and downs over the past 30 plus years. I am a low pressure salesman, who will take my time to show buyers and sellers what their options are. I like to think I am friendly, helpful and approachable person who listens to and is senitive what your needs and wants are. I want your repeat business and I want all your future referrals.
COMFORT and CONVENIENCE
I have a modern, four door, full sized Chrysler LHS, which has the maximum knee room for the person sitting in the back. It is air-conditioned and has electrically heated seats in both the front and back. Despite the cost of these extras in my personal automobile, I think you deserve the most comfortable environment during our travels. I carry a cell phone, (unlike most agents I actually answer it most of the time). This is the easiest way to reach me. One number connects you to my direct office number, or cell. I have a toll free number: 1-800-801-3616 which comes directly to my desk, cell. My out of town buyers appreciate this convenience.
CHARITABLE and OTHER ACTIVITIES
Prior to working in Real Estate, I was an aircraft salesman and a pilot.
I have written two large reports on the Boeing 727 series 200 in the late 1980s. In 2010, I wrote another major report on various new aviation opportunities that I see being available in the future. Over the years, I have traveled to Europe, China, the United States, been to Whitehorse and parts north. I continue to be an active member of Wild Rose United Church. Over the years I have been a member of the Foundation, the board, the Outreach and Trustees Committees. I have also been a volunteer for the Heart and Stroke Fund, the Salvation Army, Junior Achievement and STARS Air Ambulance. I have been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #264 for over twenty years.
A portion of my commission from each sale or listing goes towards the Alberta Children's Hospital. Every year in Calgary, RE/MAX gives a minimum of $250,000 for expensive fellowship programs that attract the best medical help from around the world. For 16 years, I was the office representative that helped to raise these funds and watched over how they were spent. Through my efforts, our office is the number one contributor to the Alberta Children's Hospital in Western Canada.
My hobbies include: water, cross country and downhill skiing, running 10 km road races, short track running, aviation, canoeing, (I have two) boating in B.C. and Thunder Bay. I enjoy working out at the gyn at the Calgary Winter Club.
I AM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO BE OF SERVICE TO YOU!
